About

Michael Zwahlen is a Sacramento based photographer who specializes in the wonderfully varied landscapes of California with an emphasis on Sacramento. This website showcases a small selection of the fine art that is construction, cityscapes and nature taken from different parts of the country.

The photos on display here are stunning and no two taken at the same location look alike, the difference is in the lighting and weather conditions. Michael shoots primarily at Sunrise and Sunset to best capture the warm colors and heightened shadows that low light will produce.

Michael naturally photographs the City of Sacramento as well as many other areas of Northern California since that is where he calls home. Although most of the photographs on this site will be from Sacramento and California, there’s also be a section in the gallery for some of Michael’s favorite images taken from outside of California.

The gallery will be continually updated and changed month to month from various locations throughout the year.

Michael’s photos have been featured in Comstock Magazine, Sactown Magazine, Sacramento Magazine, The Sacramento Press, Sacramento Business Journal and For Rent Magazine. Some of his other clients are Rudolph & Sletten Construction, Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization (SACTO), City of Sacramento, Lyon Real Estate, LJ Urban, The Downtown Sacramento Partnership, Meridian Media Group, Inc.,  Capitol Area Development Authority,  FCF General Contractor, Capitol Area Development Authority, The Endowment Board,  McGeorge School of Law, WRNS Studio as well as many other business and organizations.
